Born in Brooklyn, NY to first-generation parents, Martinez grew up overseas as a Navy brat. He spent his earliest years in Japan and Bermuda before settling down in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Martinez graduated from Princess Anne High School as Student Counsel Vice President, only a few years after local hero Pharrell Williams. Martinez created his own Film degree at George Mason University by combining an English major and Communications minor and graduated with Honors. Martinez has since grown into a highly dynamic entrepreneur and executive with a proven track record of harnessing under-served communities to build creator-friendly products and help leverage emerging technologies to accelerate growth.

Beginning his career at Abrams Artists Agency, Martinez worked his way up from the mailroom to become one of the first Digital Talent Agents in Hollywood. Martinez eventually met his future investors, allowing him to form his first startup, INDMUSIC, with a friend from college. Most known for monetizing the “Harlem Shake” meme in 2013, Martinez sold the business to Live Nation in 2016 and went on to run their Global YouTube business for the next 3 years. Recently, Martinez has been building tools and infrastructure in web3 with Superlativ3. He initially launched SNKRHUD, an NFT-based community for sneakerheads, as part of Snapchat’s accelerator, Yellow. Later, he created Flowscore, a ranking and rarity tool for web3 communities and collectors.
